Peaks!

This year eight Sixth Formers are participating in the Three Peak Challenge, which involves climbing Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon. We are doing this to raise money for the Chesney Trust.

The Chesney Trust has a straightforward mission and a history of making things happen. When Janet Chesney went to Malawi in 2004 as a volunteer teacher at a girl's school, she was asked repeatedly by parents to 'build a school for their daughters' and this is exactly what the Chesney Trust is doing.

The Three Peaks Challenge is a National event and is well known in among the adventurous. This challenge involves climbing 3 mountains in Scotland, England and Wales. By the end we will have travelled over 450 miles and climbed more than 3,400 metres. But there is a catch. All three of the mountains must be climbed in 24 hours. and the driving alone eats up almost half of our time...

About 3 Peaks

The Chesney Trust was set up in 2006 as a registered charity in Scotland. The Trust aims  to advance the education of girls in Malawi and is having a huge impact on the remote community of Engcongolweni in Northern  Malawi as well as improving employment opportunities and the local infrastructure.

The Three Peaks Challenge involves climbing the three highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales in 24 hours.

Ben Nevis to Snowdon is over 450 miles long and the challenge will begin at 17.00 at Ben Nevis and end by 17.00 at Snowdon.

This expedition will not only challenge us physically but we have also set ourselves the goal of raising £4,000 for the Chesney Trust.

To do this we are planning a variety of fundraisers such as bag packing, logo quizes and use JustGiiving to help raise funds.

Hopeful we will be able to help improve the lives of children in Malawi for the long run. Please support us and this worthwhile cause!
